Here too there is enough wood and menthol influence to merit pointing out on the spiced aromas of mostly black raspberry, earth and an interesting smoky component. The rich and sleek yet relatively full-bodied flavors possess very fine mid-palate density, indeed the palate impression is one of opulence, that contrasts with the powerful, youthfully austere and beautifully long finale. This too could use more depth but that's all but a given if cellared properly. I would add that this is not so tightly wound that it couldn't be reasonably approached after 5 to 7 years if you don't feel like waiting to full maturity.
