A ripe and reasonably fresh nose of red and dark currant and more subtle earth elements is complemented by delicious and attractively textured, if not especially dense, flavors that conclude in a lightly austere finale. This generous and forward effort could easily be enjoyed young.

This is aromatically similar to the Bourgogne but with more prominent petrol influence as well as a touch of wood. The succulent, round and delicious middle weight flavors also conclude in a borderline tannic finale where the wood telegraphed by the nose gradually surfaces.

This is also ripe but slightly fresher on the nose of pretty purple fruit, soft earth and a suggestion of crushed fennel. I very much like the texture of the more refined and slightly punchier flavors that deliver fine length on the stony finale. This is an excellent Ladoix villages and worth considering.
