The 2022 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is captivatingly fragrant with aromas of cherries, pomegranate, dried petals, Earl Grey tea, slate and Indian spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied and packed with a silken core of fruits interlaced with salinity. It has a lining of ripe acidity and a persistent tension from the chalk-like tannins that impart a subtle resistance; together, this draws the wine out with great sophistication, culminating in a long, crafted finish. This is a wine that, despite all of the material it is working with, boasts admirable poise and elegance.
