A classic Ruchottes nose offers up a lovely array of sauvage and truffle elements on the overtly floral nose of mostly red and dark pinot fruit where hints of earth and wood lurk in the background. The sleek and more refined if not quite as concentrated flavors culminate in a youthfully austere, dusty and balanced finale that seems to be built on a base of minerality. I very much like the gorgeous texture and this is textbook.

Notes bemywine : For this Wijnbergperzik, we macerated vineyard peaches from the field of Ludo Rosseels, Gelrode, Brabant, Flanders. For macerating and blending, we used one- and two-year lambikken, originating from eleven different brews and five different barrels. The peaches macerated for more than three months on wooden barrels. The final fruit proportion is 398 grams of vineyard peaches per litre of Wijnbergperzik. About 70% of the cereals for this pure 3 Fonteinen blend used were sourced from our Cereal Collective. Bottled on 07/12/2023.

Notes BeMyWine : Soliste Rosé Meunier comes from a perched, wind-swept plot in Pierry 1er Cru, offering a unique panorama over the Champagne slopes. This 100% Meunier produces a rich and complex rosé with layered flavors and texture. Vinified after destemming and a short maceration, then aged 10 months in oak barrels and 4 years under natural cork, it develops depth and finesse. Finished as an Extra Brut (1.5 g/L), it impresses with balance, freshness, and authenticity.

The 2019 Soliste Meunier Rosé Pierry 1er Cru Les Charmiers is sourced from a high-altitude, wind-exposed parcel near Épernay, which consistently avoids any botrytis pressure. After a maceration of typically between 18 to 24 hours, the wine was disgorged in January 2024 with a dosage of two grams per liter. It jumps from the glass with aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, nutmeg and pink grapefruit zest mingling with notes of brioche. Medium- to full-bodied, it is vinous and textural, with a concentrated fruit core and balance. Given its production method and vintage character, it shows considerable elegance and would pair beautifully with dishes such as smoked salmon.

Based on the 2022 vintage and enhanced by 50% reserve wines aged in a perpetual reserve initiated in 2004, Sélèque’s NV Extra Brut Solessence exudes a bouquet of ripe citrus, peach and freshly baked bread. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, broad and textural, with a generous core of fruit underpinned by ripe yet lively acidity, exhibiting a phenolic structure and an assertive bitterness on the finish. Vinified in equal parts stainless steel and oak, it was disgorged in August 2024 with a dosage of 1.5 grams per liter. The blend comprises nearly equal proportions of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, with an additional 10% Pinot Noir.
