Notes BeMyWine : Originating from the eastern part of the Py hill, which overlooks the entire appellation, this cuvée comes from 90-year-old vines in the plot known as “Aux Pierres” in Javernières, a terroir recognized for its potential long before the AOCs. Extremely stony, with nearly century-old vines, these are old high-quality massal selections. The result is a wine of great density, deep, with a pronounced structure, supported by dark fruit and an almost saline balance. Aged in 30?hl concrete eggs, this Morgon is built for aging. A pure and uncompromising Desvignes expression with this new single?plot cuvée.

From an east-facing parcel of 90-year-old vines, 2021 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières Aux Pierres is also superb, delivering aromas of blackberries, plums, exotic spices and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's seamless and enveloping, with a layered core of fruit that largely conceals its ripe structuring tannins. This bottling, which joined the range last year, is rapidly establishing itself as one of the high points of the portfolio.
